4th grade Value Landscapes
Fourth grade completed a great project with a focus on value this week. First, they used cardboard scraps to tear a mountain-scape. They then placed the template on top of their paper and traced all of the lines, ridges and jagged edges. They repeated this 3 times and could flip and turn their template to get a variety of mountains.
Next, they painted the base color at the bottom and added white paint to create a tint of each color. We talked about mixing colors and using ratios. 1 part color to 1 part white as they tested their colors, they might need to adjust the ratio to 2 to 1 or even 6 to 1.
These turned out so well, great impact and great lesson in value.
