Earth Day Celebration 2014
For the last 4 years we have had an Earth Day Celebration during our Specials rotation. This year we added more to our agenda and our students had a great time!
First, the Book Swap. This is where students bring in their books from home to swap them for gently used books. This year everyone was given 1 book to swap by our generous Librarian, Mrs. Fournier. Wow that was so nice of her!
Next we had the voting for our annual Recycle Art Project contest. Wow, did these kids use their creativity! The entries were amazing and we have 2 clear winners and 2 best in show!
If that wasn't enough, the students signed-up last week to be in our first ever Sing-a-thon! We had so many students Mrs. Hermansen and I are going to continue the fun next Friday!
Students also continued the recycling efforts by bring Ms. Potral household items she is going to use for Field Day! Wonder how the plastic eggs are going to be used? Can't wait to find out!
Thank you to all of our students for participating in our events and to our teachers who didn't say a word about how loud we sang!
Happy Earth Day!

2nd grade Cylinders
Leaning about cylinders is a 2 Second grade Tek. Last week the students practiced drawing cylinders over and over! The next class meeting they finally were able to paint but they only painted half of the cylinder. I gave them a straw to blow the paint which makes it look like the contents are exploding!
